FreedomWorks Statement in Response to House Intelligence Committee Opening Statements and Process
WASHINGTON, D.C. — In response to the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence’s opening statements and questions of process regarding today’s hearing on impeachment, Noah Wall, FreedomWorks Vice President of Advocacy, commented:
“Chairman Schiff’s actions today in the first of a series of hearings in the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence once again highlights how House Democrats are trying their hardest to railroad a duly elected President of the United States.
"Regardless of what Speaker Pelosi may say, this process has been neither fair nor just. Not only has Chairman Schiff denied the minority the right to call a single witness, but he even refused to allow the committee to vote on a motion to call the whistleblower before the committee to testify in a closed session.
"Although Chairman Schiff seems hell-bent on overturning the 2016 election, Republicans in both the House and the Senate are fighting furiously for fairness and openness in what has been a one-sided process. The American people will see through this charade.”
