FreedomWorks Statement in Response to Millions of Unreturned Mail Ballots in Key States
WASHINGTON, D.C. — In response to the news that millions of mail ballots have yet to be returned in critical battleground states, Adam Brandon, FreedomWorks President, commented:
“Democrats relentlessly pushed for widespread voting by mail this campaign cycle, and it looks like they finally got what they were asking for: disenfranchisement, degraded confidence in the electoral system, an implosion of the Postal Service, and an election that will likely not be settled for days, perhaps even weeks after November 3. And now that the problems we’ve been warning about are starkly apparent, Democrats have since changed their message to tell voters to deliver their ballots in person to election offices. If that’s their message now, then it’s clear that the push to get people to vote via mail ballots was never really about staying ‘healthy’ and protecting our most nation’s most vulnerable.
“All of this could have been avoided if Democrats did not persist in laying the groundwork for a contested election and taking advantage of COVID-19 anxieties. If there is any good that can come out of this crisis, it is the hope that voters will think twice in the future before blindly accepting the words of Democratic leaders about something as precious as their vote.”
