FreedomWorks Statement in Response to Senate Vote Against Calling New Witnesses in Impeachment Trial
WASHINGTON, D.C. — In response to the Senate’s vote to not bring forward new witnesses in President Trump’s (R-N.Y.) impeachment trial, in addition to the 17 witnesses who have already provided testimony before the House of Representatives, Adam Brandon, FreedomWorks’ President, commented:
"Tonight’s vote confirms what we have believed all along; additional witnesses are unnecessary in this trial. We find it unfortunate that Sen. Romney (R-Utah) is more inclined to vote in accordance with the far-left Squad than with the conservative base who elected him. I’d like to thank our grassroots activists nationwide who lobbied from their communities, as well as the more than 180 activists who visited Senate offices in person on behalf of President Trump’s acquittal in the past month. On behalf of all our activists, FreedomWorks looks forward to the swift end of this impeachment charade."
Government goes to those who show up, and FreedomWorks’ grassroots community will continue to engage with their elected representatives until President Trump is acquitted.
