Following the conclusion of the House Ways and Means Committee hearing on fundamental tax reform, FreedomWorks President Adam Brandon commented:
"Congress has a real opportunity to boost the economy and restore prosperity and opportunity for all Americans through fundamental, pro-growth tax reform. This is a generational moment, and it’s one that FreedomWorks will be heavily involved in until a bill is across the finish line.
"The tax code hasn’t been overhauled since 1986 and Americans haven’t seen annual economic growth of 3 percent or higher since 2005. The economic policies of the past eight years, which include massive tax increases, have prevented and harmed the ability of businesses, large and small, to expand and create more jobs.
"We thank Chairman Kevin Brady for his work on tax reform and members of Ways and Means who are committed to getting something impactful done this year."
FreedomWorks President Adam Brandon submitted a statement to the House Ways and Means Committee in support of tax reform. The statement, which includes FreedomWorks’ Six Principles for Fundamental Tax Reform, can be found here.
