ICYMI: FreedomWorks’ BEST Hosts Press Conference Calling on AG Garland To Resign
WASHINGTON, D.C. — FreedomWorks’ Building Education for Students Together (BEST) initiative hosted a press conference this week calling on Attorney General Garland to resign in light of new evidence that suggests he cooperated with outside groups to order the FBI to utilize counterterrorism provisions within the USA PATRIOT Act to spy on American citizens. In response, Adam Brandon, FreedomWorks President, commented:
“These new developments suggest that Attorney General Garland ordered the FBI to spy on concerned American citizens at the behest of left-wing education groups. I suggest that AG Garland resign.
“To think that AG Garland was only a few votes away from a seat on the Supreme Court is concerning. His actions as the head of the Biden administration’s Department of Justice speak volumes about just how far they will go to use the administrative state to spy on Americans.
“Should Republicans reclaim their majorities in 2022, they should immediately begin to investigate the actions of AG Garland’s DOJ. It is imperative that individuals are held responsible for this gross abuse of power. We will not forget.”
