Judge Neil Gorsuch Because of 138,000 Contacts
In light of today’s Senate confirmation hearing for Judge Neil Gorsuch, FreedomWorks CEO Adam Brandon offered the following statement:
"Today’s hearing and the opportunity it presents to get a Supreme Court Justice Gorsuch would not have been possible without the ardent support of grassroots conservatives. Our activists alone made more than 138,000 contacts with Senate offices to support allowing President Trump to nominate a conservative to the Supreme Court.
"Judge Gorsuch is a true constitutionalist. He has written critically of the Supreme Court’s 1984 Chevron deference, which requires federal courts to defer to regulatory agencies’ interpretations of ‘silent or ambiguous’ statutes. This decision greatly increased the power of unelected bureaucrats. It would be a big win for conservatives to get Judge Gorsuch on the Supreme Court."
