Polling Shows Voters Don’t Believe Biden is Even Trying to Secure Southern Border 

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Recent polling conducted April 7-9, 2022 by Scott Rasmussen shows that Americans oppose President Biden’s immigration policies, particularly with regard to the termination of Title 42 this past week. Adam Brandon, FreedomWorks President, commented:

“This recent polling shows that the Biden Administration’s policies are broadly out of touch with American voters. Fewer than three in ten Americans approve of Biden’s handling of the situation at the southern border, and only 26 percent believe that his administration is even trying to secure the border. As chief executive, Biden has responsibility for ensuring that the rule of law is enforced. Once again, President Biden has failed the American people.” 

“For a President who ran on the nonsense claim that he would ‘shut down the virus,’ Biden has curiously done away with Title 42, which requires that incoming migrants be tested for Covid-19. Conversely, nearly two thirds of Americans support the use of public health measures to halt illegal immigration, and a majority of Americans oppose Biden’s decision to end Title 42. Since the days of Ellis Island, public health screening has always been a fundamental part of American immigration policy. Again, Biden is putting Americans at risk by failing to enforce the laws on the books.”
