The Jefferson Award is given to those legislators who have proven through their voting record that they believe lower taxes, less government, and more freedom are the best way to help American families, workers, and businesses. The award is determined at the end of each Congress by tabulating CSE’s “Key Votes.” CSE has Key Voted 20 legislative bills throughout the 107th Congress that pertain to important economic issues. Representative Schrock scored an impressive 95 percent.

CSE President and CEO Paul Beckner had these comments:

“On behalf of the 280,000 members of CSE, I congratulate Representative Schrock on receiving CSE’s prestigious Jefferson Award. Jefferson Award winners represent a handful of elected officials from around the country who have proven through their voting record that they believe in limited government and free markets..

“Representative Shrock’s voting record on economic issues facing hard-working American taxpayers – tax and budget, civil justice reform, technology policy, environmental reform, and health care and labor issues – makes him a real fighter for American families and businesses.

“We honor Representative Shrock today because he remembers and practices what Thomas Jefferson said over 200 years ago: ‘The people are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty.’”
