FreedomWorks Vice President of Legislative Affairs Jason Pye released the following statement at the conclusion of the vote in the House of Representatives on the FY 2018 budget resolution, which provides the path for a tax reform bill under reconciliation:
“While we’re frustrated with the spending levels in the Senate amendment to the budget resolution, it was important for the House to pass this bill instead of going to conference because of the constraints of the legislative calendar. We firmly believe tax reform needs to happen this year.
“The economic policies of the previous administration led to a stagnant economy, one in which many people continued to feel the effects of the recession and anemic growth. We need to grow at 3 percent to 4 percent annually, while creating more opportunities and boosting wages for all Americans. We look forward to seeing more details on the tax reform framework and working to get a positive tax reform bill across the finish line.”
