Secretary-General of World Meteorological Organization Refutes Doomsters and Extremists: “They Make Threats.”

Speaking to Finland’s financial newspaper Talouselama (“The Journal”) on September 6, Petteri Taalas, the Secretary-General of the World Meteorological Organization, refuted the claims that the world has an existential climate crisis.

“It is not going to be the end of the world. The world is just becoming more challenging. In parts of the globe, living conditions are becoming worse, but people have survived in harsh conditions.”

Secretary-General Taalas has devoted his professional life to studying climate. He has been Secretary-General of WMO since January 2016 and was recently re-appointed for four more years. Many times, Dr. Taalas has stated that fossil fuels must be reduced. However, in the interview, he alluded that disagreements with skepticism are lessening and strongly warned against radical solutions:

“While climate skepticism has become less of an issue, now we are being challenged from the other side. Climate experts have been attacked by these people and they claim that we should be much more radical.”

“They are doomsters and extremists; they make threats. Much more radical action is demanded by the Extinction Rebellion movement. They demand zero emissions by 2025 and “honest” climate information from governments.”

An example of doomsters and extremists are the Justice Democrats led by Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) and Saikat Chakrabarti, formerly her chief of staff. The Washington Post reported on a meeting between Chakrabarti and Sam Ricketts, a staff person with Washington Gov. Jay Inslee (D), who was running for president claiming, global warming was an existential threat.

Chakrabarti had an unexpected disclosure. “The interesting thing about the Green New Deal,” he said, “is it wasn’t originally a climate thing at all.” Ricketts greeted this startling notion with an attentive poker face. “Do you guys think of it as a climate thing?” Chakrabarti continued. “Because we really think of it as a how-do-you-change-the-entire-economy thing.”

The Justice Democrats have no concern about the vigorous scientific debate between meteorological professionals on the impact of CO2 on the earth. The Justice Democrats realized there was great anxiety created by media and some scientists that could be exploited for their, “… how-do-you-change-the-entire-economy thing.”

Unfortunately, the Justice Democrats have convinced the viable Democratic candidates for president to strongly support radical political solutions that would enormously destabilize our economy, our industries and our lives because of not proven claims to save the planet. One example: Senator Elizabeth Warren vowed, “On my first day as president, I will sign an executive order that puts a total moratorium on all new fossil fuel leases for drilling offshore and on public lands. And I will ban fracking—everywhere.”

Petteri Taalas, the Secretary-General of the World Meteorological Organization, undoubtedly made his statements to counteract what he called the “Extinction Rebellion movement,” when he said that the alarmist narrative on climate change has gone off the rails and additionally criticized the news media for provoking unjustified anxiety.
