New Polls Show the Danger of Banning E-Cigs

As debate surrounding the use and marketing of e-cigarettes and vapes has swirled around Washington for the past few months, one of the most important voices has, buy-in-large, been entirely ignored. The moderately sized group of protesters that rallied outside of the White House on November 9th to protest President Trump’s proposed ban on e-cigarettes went all but unmentioned in the mainstream media. Their signs were simple and to-the-point: “We Vape. We Vote.” And vote they will.

FreedomWorks’ Bill of the Month for October 2019: Craft Beverage Modernization and Tax Reform Act, H.R. 1175 and S. 362

FreedomWorks is proud to announce that our bill of the month for October 2019 is the Craft Beverage Modernization and Tax Reform Act (CBMTRA), H.R. 1175 and S. 362, introduced by Reps. Mike Kelly (R-Pa.) and Ron Kind (D-Wis.) in the House and Sens. Roy Blunt (R-Mo.) and Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) in the Senate. This bill would permanently extend the reduction in the excise tax on beer, wine, and distilled spirits that was passed as part of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) of 2017.

Prominent Conservatives and Their Take on Justice Reform

The Republican Party has for a long time been perceived as the party that is not sympathetic to criminal justice reform. The common opinion is that those who favor the legalization of marijuana and other drugs are usually associated with the Democratic Party. This same rationale has been applied to justice reform as well. However, things have been changing now as the Republican Party continues a stronger and more public push to promote conservative ideals within our justice system.

Michigan Senate committee moves protections for innocent property owners a step closer to passage

The Michigan Senate Judiciary Committee unanimously approved seven of eight civil asset forfeiture reform bills on Wednesday. The bills, which have been endorsed by a 10,000-member law enforcement organization, will provide meaningful property rights protections for law-abiding citizens, as well as bring uniformity and transparency in state forfeiture law.
