Democrats’ Pillage and Plunder of the Filibuster

The gamification of the legislative process by Democrats with the presumed guarantee of favorable press coverage is a song and dance that has become synonymous with today’s congressional leadership.

The Conservative Grassroots Are Ready to Confirm a New Justice - Is the GOP Senate?

The passing of the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has changed the dynamic of the already contentious 2020 Election by leaving a vacancy on our nation’s highest court. As Republicans gear up to confirm a new Ninth Associate Justice, they should recognize the gravity of the situation in the same way that the conservative grassroots does. Republicans will need the conservative grassroots if they are to confirm President Trump’s eventual nominee, because the left will stop at nothing to prevent this.

How Senate Democrats Battle In Favor For Tax Cuts For The Wealthy

Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer has railed against the proposals by Republicans to modestly reduce unemployment benefits. Republicans are concerned the $600 weekly unemployment benefits have harmed the economic recovery from the severe disruptions caused by the shutdowns across the country in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

Senate Democratic Leader Who Rails Against Tax Cuts for the Rich Is Fighting for Tax Cuts for the Rich

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) railed last week against Republicans’ proposal to modestly reduce unemployment insurance benefits. Republicans were concerned that the $600 weekly unemployment insurance benefit has harmed the recovery from the severe disruptions caused by partial economic shutdowns in response to COVID-19.

Democrats' Plans for More Spending Could Mean a Lost Decade for America

House and Senate Democrats are preparing to release another very costly legislative response to COVID-19. No cost estimate is available quite yet, but we know that it’s likely to rival the $2.3 trillion cost of the Phase III bill, the CARES Act, which passed Congress in March. Although all the details of the Democrats’ legislation haven’t been released, it will likely include $1 trillion in funding for state and local governments, bailouts for pension funds and the U.S. Postal Service, expansion of food stamps and the earned income tax credit, universal basic income, and an “essential worker bill of rights.”

We Don't Have to Put Up With This Escheat

Amidst the coronavirus crisis, there are two storylines - aside from the havoc the virus itself has wrought - that seem to stand out. The first is that the social distancing requirements and subsequent economic lockdowns have made it far more difficult for Americans to save their hard-earned money. The second is that Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-N.Y.) has suddenly become America’s sweetheart.

An Update on Impeachment and the Looming Senate Trial

The House of Representatives handled the impeachment of President Donald Trump in an unprecedented way, one that makes a mockery of the process and delegitimizes it as a constitutional remedy. Unfortunately, this partisan charade has continued even after the House approved both articles of impeachment.

Two Years Post-Net Neutrality Repeal: The Internet is Alive and Well

The FCC’s Restoring Internet Freedom Order is about to turn two years old. We were told at the time of its passage that it would mean the elimination of minority voices, that the Internet would load one word at a time, or even the outright death of the World Wide Web. If you’ve made it this far in this article, it would seem the Internet is doing just fine.

Senate Democrats' Desperate Attempt to Stop the Another Trump Nominee to the Supreme Court

President Donald Trump is expected to announce his second Supreme Court nominee tonight at 9:00 pm. As one might expect, Democrats are losing their collective minds over Justice Anthony Kennedy’s retirement and the thought of another conservative jurist on the Court. But their primary argument for not confirming a nominee is very different from the set of circumstances that the Senate faced in 2016.
