The coronavirus created a panic by governors, mayors and many politicians to lock down Americans. They prescribed what jobs were essential and non-essential, ordered nursing homes not to transfer corona patients to hospitals, closed schools from elementary through colleges, ordered masks in public places, and told everyone to social distance. The restrictions continue to go on and on. Appreciating the enormous financial, social and personal impacts of these government edicts, FreedomWorks has been a strong advocate for “getting America back to work.”
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- In response to the rollout of the Health, Economic Assistance, Liability Protections, and Schools (HEALS) Act, Senate Republicans’ plan for the phase IV COVID-19 relief package, Adam Brandon, FreedomWorks President, commented:
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The Save our Country Coalition today announces the launch of a new three part ad campaign that lays out what any phase IV Coronavirus relief package must include, namely a payroll tax holiday for America’s workers (not more unemployment benefits), liability shields for businesses, as well as no further bailouts for Blue cities and states.
On Monday, Senate Republicans rolled out their priorities for the next legislative of the phase to COVID-19. Entitled the Health, Economic Assistance, Liability Protections, and Schools (HEALS) Act, the legislation is a mashup of eight different pieces of legislation, the cost of which is expected to reach at least $1 trillion.
While much of the American workforce remains at home, there are still many out there working hard to keep the lights on. America can’t afford to continue providing massive unemployment payments to some, while leaving Americans who continue to work high and dry. The least we can do for these Americans is give them a payroll tax cut. Stimulus payments have been horribly mismanaged, but a payroll tax cut would provide direct relief to hard-working Americans and businesses.
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- In response to proposals by so-called free-market conservatives that call for the implementation of price controls on prescription drugs, FreedomWorks announces today a six-figure Hulu and digital ad buy calling on Congress and the administration to reject socialized price controls.
Congress will soon consider another legislative solution to COVID-19, having already passed four bills in response to the pandemic. Those bills have increased the budget deficit by some $2.4 trillion, and new legislation will likely near $1 trillion, adding more to the budget deficit.
Congress may be out of session this week, but when lawmakers return, we all know they will get back to their favorite pastime of spending taxpayer dollars. The phase four coronavirus relief bill, which will almost certainly be in the ballpark of $1 trillion or more, is inevitable. In addition to increasing the deficit, lawmakers, particularly Democrats, are willing to incentivize Americans to stay far more than six feet away from the economy.
