FreedomWorks activists are approaching half a million actions to pressure select members of Congress to defend Internet Freedom and uphold FCC Chairman Ajit Pai’s Restoring Internet Freedom Order.

FreedomWorks Director of Policy Patrick Hedger released the following statement on FTC v AT&T Mobility LLC:

Today, FCC Chairman Ajit Pai circulated copies of the final Restoring Internet Freedom Order with his fellow commissioners. Tomorrow, copies will be made available to the public. This is a full three weeks prior to the vote on the proposal, an unprecedented level of transparency compared to the previous administration. The order is expected to reverse the 2015 FCC order subjecting internet service providers to vague and burdensome standards of public utility regulation under Title II of the Communications Act of 1934. The specter of Title II regulation has already killed upwards of $125 billion in broadband infrastructure deployment.

FreedomWorks Foundation’s program manager, Patrick Hedger, released the following statement on the day of action to support President Barack Obama’s administration’s increased 2015 regulation of the Internet:

FreedomWorks has joined other free market groups concerned about Title II regulations of the Internet to launch a new website to spur activism on the issue.

Today, the Federal Communications Commission voted to approve a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking to undo the massive regulatory structure imposed on the internet by the Obama administration. The proposed rule would return the internet to the light touch regulation that governed its development for the last twenty years.
