The United States is searching for a solution to the healthcare fiasco in Washington, D.C. The American people were promised a full repeal of ObamaCare. However, once in power, the members of Congress threw their central campaign promise to the wayside. The Republican leadership’s inability to come to a consensus is troubling and the deviation from the full repeal is appalling. Republican leadership in the House and Senate actually increased support for ObamaCare among senators and representatives.
FreedomWorks stood with Sens. Rand Paul (R-Ky), Mike Lee (R-Utah), and Ted Cruz (Texas); Reps. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.), Mark Walker (R-N.C.), and Jim Jordan (R-Ohio); and others who last night and this morning clearly stated their support for the 2015 repeal as a minimum level of repeal.
Tea Party tactics were excellent when there were not Republican majorities in Congress and when the president was opposed to all conservative policies. The large rallies protesting burdensome taxes and gross overspending in Washington worked then, but now it’s time for a different approach.
I have asthma. Asthma is a chronic yet easily managed disease. I have been taking the same medications for years to control my symptoms. I have not needed to see a pulmonologist (asthma doctor) for the past several years. I saw one recently, primarily because my health insurance company is not covering my medications any longer. These are medications they saw fit to cover last year and the year before and the year before that.
