Welcome to the new and improved Regulatory Action Center (RAC) Review! RAC proudly keeps you up to date on what we’re up to and what we’re keeping our eyes on here in the swamp. We offer resources for you to get involved in the rulemaking process to hold unelected bureaucrats accountable and occasionally offer praise in the event they have a good impulse. We will also highlight the incredible work our activists have done to advance the principles of smaller government, lower taxes, free markets, personal liberty, and the rule of law. FreedomWorks is proud to honor Rep. Michael Cloud (R-Texas) as our member of the month for August 2019. Representing Texas’ 27th Congressional District, which encompasses much of the Gulf Coast in southern Texas, Rep. Cloud has proven to be a strong ally for liberty. Rep. Cloud is one of only fourteen House members who currently hold a 100 percent on FreedomWorks’ Congressional Scorecard thus far in 2019, demonstrating that he is dedicated to fighting for the people of the Texas 27th and is beyond worthy of our recognition.

This week, the House Oversight and Reform Committee’s Subcommittee on Economic and Consumer Policy will hold hearings entitled, “Examining JUUL’s Role in the Youth Nicotine Epidemic.” In the hearing, the Subcommittee is expected to discuss JUUL’s marketing practices and other strategies that may have contributed to the rise in youth vaping over the past few years.
