The Doctors Company Hosts Tort Reform Summit

The Doctors Company, a leading national professional liability insurer, will host the second annual Tort Reform Summit October 10-12, 2001, in Napa, California. Tort reform leaders throughout the nation will meet to honor those who have made significant contributions to tort reform.

The Tort Reform Summit provides a forum to meet and review accomplishments and challenges, explore new ideas and strategies, and to recognize people and organizations that have made significant contributions to legal reform across the country. The event is cosponsored by America’s leading tort reform organizations, including the United States Chamber of Commerce, the Civil Justice Association of California, the American Tort Reform Association, and the National Association of Manufacturers.

Tort Reform Summit speakers and panelists will include Ed Meese, chairman of the Center for Judicial and Legal Studies and former U.S. attorney general, and California’s Attorney General Bill Lockyer, who was also the former president of the California State Senate. Panels and seminars will be held on junk science and mass torts, strategies to limit excessive plaintiff fees, translating tort reform to the grassroots levels, and identifying tort reform issues and agendas in the 21st century.
