FreedomWorks Foundation Reacts to IRS Withdrawal of Giving Rule

Following the news that the Internal Revenue Service withdrew its proposed giving regulations, which would have pressured non-profits to collect the Social Security numbers of donors, FreedomWorks Foundation CEO Adam Brandon commented:

“Any day you score a huge victory over the IRS is a great day. This rule would have had a huge impact on charitable giving, and we’re glad that the IRS has withdrawn it. We hope the backlash over this proposed rule sends a message to bureaucrats that we’ll continue to challenge the disturbing advance of the regulatory state.”

FreedomWorks Foundation drove more than 9,000 comments from freedom-loving activists across the country. These comments represent nearly 25 percent of the approximately 38,000 comments the IRS received on the proposed rule.

FreedomWorks Foundation seeks to engage and educate Americans across all demographics on the principles of smaller government, lower taxes, free markets, personal liberty, and the rule of law.
