FreedomWorks Applauds Republicans on Senate Judiciary Committee for Standing with Conservative Activists

Following the consensus reached by Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee to not hold hearings or a vote on any Supreme Court nominee named by President Obama, FreedomWorks CEO Adam Brandon commented:

“This is a huge victory for grassroots conservative activists who want to honor the legacy of Justice Antonin Scalia. Just last week, over the course of only 72 hours, our community sent more than 15,000 messages to Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s office urging him to stand strong against an Obama nominee. We are thrilled that Senate Republicans are sticking to the position that there should be no hearings and no votes on an Obama nominee to the Supreme Court. FreedomWorks remains prepared to drive messages and phone calls to the office of any Republican who appears to lose their resolve.”

FreedomWorks aims to educate, build, and mobilize the largest network of activists advocating the principles of smaller government, lower taxes, free markets, personal liberty and the rule of law. For more information, please visit www.FreedomWorks.org or contact Jason Pye at JPye@FreedomWorks.org.
