FreedomWorks Foundation Announces Partnership With the Demand Progress Education Fund in Report Highlighting Section 215 of FISA Abuses

WASHINGTON, D.C. — FreedomWorks Foundation is proud to announce its partnership with the Demand Progress Action Fund in a report on Section 215 of FISA, a key component of the USA PATRIOT Act, detailing how the federal government abused its authority.

Jason Pye, FreedomWorks Vice President of Legislative Affairs, commented:

“FreedomWorks Foundation is proud to partner with the Demand Progress Education Fund on this important new report about the government’s warrantless mass surveillance of millions of American citizens under Section 215 of FISA. The litany of abuses collected here shows how the government has been in near-constant violation of Americans’ legal rights to due process and privacy over the 18 years since the USA PATRIOT Act became law. Given their history of misuse, it is not tenable to contemplate a reauthorization of the expiring provisions of the USA PATRIOT Act without serious reform.”
