“Dirty 30” Lowlight: MI-08, UT-04, IL-14, MI-11, NJ-11
It’s no secret that the “blue wave” of November 2018 brought a whole host of freshmen Democrats into Congress, who have proven themselves unworthy of the trust of the American people. This phenomenon is most glaringly seen in districts that went for President Trump in 2016, but elected Democrats in the midterms.
Undoubtedly, efforts to win back these seats that have gone by the wayside are widespread, but why exactly is it so critical to flip these districts once again? Well, let’s take a look at a few lowlights of the most notable of the “Dirty 30,” whose current representatives are a stain on American governance.
MI-08: Rep. Elissa Slotkin
- Holds a ZERO percent score for 2020 on FreedomWorks Congressional Scorecard and only a 2 percent score over the span of her first term in Congress
- Voted to reinstate net neutrality, undoing FCC Chairman Ajit Pai’s Restoring Internet Freedom Order that has seen a doubling of average internet speeds since its implementation, from 76.36 Mbps in December 2017 to 152.60 Mbps in July 2020
- Cosponsor of the Social Security 2100 Act, which would increase taxes by $18.9 trillion
- Votes 96 percent of the time with Nancy Pelosi
UT-04: Rep. Ben McAdams
- Claims to be a “fiscal conservative,” but refused to sign Rep. Chip Roy’s (R-Texas) letter opposing busting the spending caps and opposed half a dozen amendments to lower spending levels in the Fiscal Year 2020 appropriations bills
- Voted for D.C. statehood as part of Pelosi’s partisan exercise to admit Washington, D.C. into the Union, blatantly violating the Constitution which would need to be amended for this to happen
- Cosponsored and voted for the bill to expand Obamacare and eliminate healthcare freedom options for millions of Americans who rely on alternatives to government health insurance that are cheaper in cost and higher in quality than Obamacare plans
- Votes 85 percent of the time with Nancy Pelosi
IL-14: Rep. Lauren Underwood
- Stokes the false flames of the Democrats’ USPS nonsense narrative, ignoring the real issues with the USPS and instead using it to incite fear in the American public for political purposes
- Introduced legislation for a backdoor bailout to the wealthy in high-tax blue states by increasing the state and local taxes (SALT) deduction cap which was put in place under the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act
- Voted to spend $1.5 trillion taxpayer dollars as part of Pelosi’s hyperpartisan “My Way or the Highway” infrastructure package, which would implement a socialist agenda in the name of transportation
- Votes ONE HUNDRED percent of the time with Nancy Pelosi
Ml-11: Rep. Haley Stevens
- Voted for the anti-worker and anti-business PRO Act, a giveaway to labor unions that would harm our economy by targeting workers who choose not to join unions and undermining all 28 states, more than half of the country, that have right-to-work laws
- Supports a $25 billion taxpayer bailout of the USPS, which by its own dysfunction and obsolescence has accrued $161 billion in unfunded liabilities and debt that will continue to grow without substantial reforms or a complete overhaul
- Cosponsor of the 100% Clean Economy Act, which — to the above point — is a radical bill that sets a national goal of achieving economy-wide, net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by no later than 2050, an impossible goal that would devastate our economy
- Votes 99 percent of the time with Nancy Pelosi
NJ-11: Rep. Mikie Sherrill
- Proudly supports ending Citizens United, in order to weaponize public donor disclosure for political purposes, threatening the privacy of millions of Americans
- Cosponsor of the 100% Clean Economy Act, which — to the above point — is a radical bill that sets a national goal of achieving economy-wide, net-zero greenhouse gas emission by no later than 2050, an impossible goal that would devastate our economy
- Voted to continue mass unconstitutional warrantless surveillance of Americans as part of the USA FREEDOM Reauthorization Act, undermining our Fourth Amendment rights
- Votes 99 percent of the time with Nancy Pelosi
The American people in these districts and others across the nation deserve far better than partisan Democrats who will vote time and time again to increase the government’s control over their lives. This November, let’s vote these members out in favor of liberty candidates who will support economic freedom and individual liberty for the betterment of our whole nation.
