New Reports of Error and Fraud Underscore Issues With Mass Mail-in Voting

With just two weeks until the November election, an alarming number of reports have surfaced confirming voters’ worst fears about widespread voting by mail. Potential difficulties associated with a major increase in mail ballots have also been documented by those on both sides of the aisle in the past and should be a subject of bipartisan concern. Sadly, Democrats and their allies in the media continue to wage a disinformation campaign suppressing any reports of issues related to widespread voting by mail.

Despite efforts to prevent the American public from seeing the truth, the facts are coming to light, mainly through local news outlets. Just last week, it was reported that more than 100 mail-in ballots were found thrown away in a local dumpster in Louisville, Kentucky. Thankfully, the ballots were recovered by a local construction worker.

While we should all be grateful that these 112 Americans were not ultimately disenfranchised, it’s a problem that situations like this are even happening. Without a passerby stumbling upon these ballots, these Kentuckians’ votes would have never made it to the election office. It isn’t difficult or crazy to imagine that there could have been countless other cases of illegal activity in recent weeks that have gone unnoticed or unreported.

What happened in Kentucky is far from the only recent story regarding the problems with widespread voting by mail. In Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, more than 28,000 voters received incorrect ballots due to what reports describe as a “mapping error.” While election officials contend that this mistake was quickly recognized and corrected, its occurrence in the first place shows the potential for fraud and disenfranchisement in an election conducted primarily by widespread voting by mail.

Given the increasing frequency of reports that demonstrate the error and fraud that inevitably accompanies widespread voting by mail, it is no surprise that more and more Americans are losing confidence in our electoral system. Rather than focusing on maximizing in-person voting and doing so in a safe and secure fashion, Democratic politicians and their allies have continued to downplay the dangers of universal mail-in voting for political gain.

The lie that in-person voting cannot take place in a way that will prevent the spread of COVID-19 is one that has taken root among proponents of a mail-in election. However, this is far from the truth. Even Dr. Anthony Fauci, who has been widely cited by members of the media as the top expert during this pandemic, says he plans to vote in person.

There is significantly more evidence of error, fraud, and illicit activity associated with widespread voting by mail than there is to support the idea that safe and socially distanced in-person voting will create a new wave of COVID-19 spread. If you only listened to Democrats and left-wing pundits, you would think the opposite.

The stories out of Allegheny County and in Louisville are the latest, but will not be the last, to shed light on the disaster of widespread voting by mail. The truth is becoming clear to millions of Americans: The attempt to implement widespread voting by mail is a danger to the integrity of our electoral system.

Leftist politicians continue to assert that widespread voting by mail is a safe alternative to our traditional procedures. All available evidence points to the opposite conclusion. Americans can and should vote safely in person this Election Day.
