FreedomWorks Statement in Response to White House Decision to Withdraw Nomination of Neera Tanden for Director of OMB

WASHINGTON, D.C. — In response to the White House’s decision tonight to officially withdraw the nomination of Neera Tanden for Director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), Adam Brandon, FreedomWorks President, commented:

“Neera Tanden made it clear that she would serve as a no holds barred progressive if confirmed to serve as Director of the Office of Management and Budget. It should come as no surprise that with the current makeup of the Senate, the White House has made the call to withdraw her name from consideration. Time and time again, Tanden has voiced her opposition to healthcare freedom and fiscal sanity. Tanden has also made clear that she supports key items on the far-left’s agenda such as the radical Green New Deal. Her defeat is a victory not only for supporters of limited government, but the nation.”
