Support the Protecting American Energy Jobs Act, H.R. 859

On behalf of our activist community, I urge you to contact your representative and ask him or her to cosponsor and sign the discharge petition for the Protecting American Energy Jobs Act, H.R. 859. Introduced by Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Co.), the Protecting American Energy Jobs Act would roll back job-killing executive orders that hold back American workers and energy independence.

From day one, President Biden has chosen to act unilaterally with a pen and a phone rather than the legislative bipartisanship he loves to pay lip service to. A deluge of executive orders is characteristic of the Biden administration. Notably, President Joe Biden issued an executive order revoking a crucial construction permit for the Keystone XL Pipeline. Despite the loss of countless jobs and opportunities, the president and his administration chose to prioritize their climate crusade.

The recent hack of the Colonial Pipeline demonstrates a clear need for reliable oil and gas transport across the United States. As admitted by Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm, pipelines are the most reliable method for transporting fuel. This admission runs in stark contrast to the policies enacted by President Biden himself. Rather than encouraging the growth of reliable oil and gas pipelines, President Biden has instead elected to cancel the Keystone XL Pipeline and place a moratorium on new oil and gas leases on public lands and offshore waters.

The Protecting American Jobs Act would undo these harmful executive actions and allow for the responsible utilization of natural resources to create good-paying jobs. Rather than eliminating economic opportunity and increasing energy dependence, we should grow the American energy sector. Our economy is the envy of the world when government gets out of the way and allows Americans to work. Rolling back such devastating executive orders is a step towards both energy independence and economic prosperity.

For these reasons, I urge you to contact your representative and ask him or her to cosponsor and sign the discharge petition for the Protecting American Energy Jobs Act, H.R. 859.

Sincerely,

Adam Brandon,
