Support the Lessening Regulatory Costs and Establishing a Federal Regulatory Budget Act, H.R. 968

On behalf of our activist community, I urge you to contact your representative and ask him or her to support the Lessening Regulatory Costs and Establishing a Federal Regulatory Budget Act, H.R. 968. Introduced by Rep. Ted Budd (R-N.C.), the Lessening Regulatory Costs and Establishing a Federal Regulatory Budget Act would ensure that for every significant regulation created two are eliminated and that the total cost of regulations does not increase.

Our regulatory state has grown out of control. Unelected bureaucrats impose massive burdens on our economy and stifle growth and innovation with costly regulations. It is crucial that the American people have the freedom of choice within the marketplace and that economic growth is no longer held back by unelected officials creating new regulations in Washington, D.C.

Rep. Budd’s legislation is straightforward and would hold our federal government to a new standard. Any new regulatory cost would be balanced by eliminating existing regulatory costs. It would also require federal agencies to repeal two regulations for any new regulation proposed.

This bill would make regulatory reform a priority and hold agencies accountable by requiring them to appoint a Regulatory Reform Officer and establish a Regulatory Reform Task Force to review the agency’s regulations

Legislation like this is crucial in holding unelected bureaucrats accountable and re-asserting the legislative branch’s proper Article I authority. For these reasons, I urge you to contact your representative and ask him or her to support the Lessening Regulatory Costs and Establishing a Federal Regulatory Budget Act, H.R. 968.

Sincerely,
Adam Brandon, President, FreedomWorks
