Key Vote NO on the Big Government Socialism Bill, H.R. 5376
This budget reconciliation bill throws fiscal responsibility out the window while the national debt is expected to eclipse $30 trillion. In a time when we should be reining in the gross overspending from the federal COVID-19 response, outlays will far outpace revenues, meaning record-breaking deficits from here on out.
By a party-line vote, Democrats are looking to push through a laundry list of left-wing initiatives that include “environmental justice”, socialist drug pricing schemes, and taxes for America’s job creators.
Whether it be electric vehicles or “tree equity”, the Green New Deal is baked into the DNA of this package that sends billions of dollars to left-wing climate change programs.
The package still includes generous tax breaks and de facto subsidies for Nancy Pelosi’s allies, including partisan journalists.
Advocates of the bill would have you believe that the drug pricing scheme will make medicine more affordable when it would do the opposite. This bill would disproportionately target generics and biosimilars, the very products that drive down the cost of life-saving medications. Worst of all, this bill would disincentivize investments for the development of new medicines and treatments.
Despite President Biden’s campaign pledge not to raise taxes on anyone making over $400,000 per year, this bill would impose taxes on nicotine products that will overwhelmingly be paid for by low-income individuals.
This bloated spending bill is irresponsible, to say the least, and will only increase the dependence on government handouts. Voting in favor of this massive tax-and-spend resolution is wrong for Americans now and will contribute to financial hardship for Americans in the future.
