FreedomWorks Applauds Senate Judiciary Committee’s Passage of the CREATES Act

Washington, DC – FreedomWorks applauds the Senate Judiciary Committee today for passing the CREATES Act, S. 974 in bipartisan fashion. The Committee’s advancement of this key legislation brings the American people one step closer to having better access to more affordable prescription drugs.

FreedomWorks President Adam Brandon commented:

“It’s wonderful to see the Judiciary Committee take an important step to allow for competition in the pharmaceutical market by passing the CREATES Act.”

“The CREATES Act allows for greater competition by giving generics legal recourse if they are shut out by predatory, monopolistic practices by Big Pharma. It would save patients and caretakers money, and save the taxpayer $5 billion annually.”

“FreedomWorks is excited to see the broad, bipartisan coalition that is assembling behind this free-market solution to overpriced medication. We look forward to seeing the support CREATES will get from the full body, and encourage Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to take this measure up for a vote in the Senate as soon as possible. There is no reason for any further delay.”
