In the coming weeks, Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-Calif.) priority drug pricing bill, H.R. 3, is expected to come up for a vote in the House of Representatives. Make no mistake -- this is a socialist piece of legislation. Unfortunately, with the way the Democratic Party is trending and its major candidates for the presidency in 2020 endorsing increasingly big-government policies, H.R. 3 is almost guaranteed to pass the chamber.

FreedomWorks is proud to announce that our bill of the month for October 2019 is the Craft Beverage Modernization and Tax Reform Act (CBMTRA), H.R. 1175 and S. 362, introduced by Reps. Mike Kelly (R-Pa.) and Ron Kind (D-Wis.) in the House and Sens. Roy Blunt (R-Mo.) and Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) in the Senate. This bill would permanently extend the reduction in the excise tax on beer, wine, and distilled spirits that was passed as part of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) of 2017.

He serves in the House of Representatives for North Carolina’s 13th Congressional District, which encompasses parts of Greensboro and spans south and west of that city in the western half of the state.

Though a far cry from ending capitalism, as protestors on the streets of Washington, D.C. espoused Monday during their attempt to shut down the city in the name of climate change, Congress is eyeing an expansion of market manipulation by further subsidizing electric vehicles.

In the wake of the federal prison and sentencing reform legislation, the First Step Act, states that have not yet embarked on criminal justice reform as well as states whose reforms served as models for the federal legislation have moved in their 2019 legislative sessions to contribute to the momentum behind the shift toward smart-on-crime policies.
