Kira Davis wrote an "Open Letter From a Black Republican to Reince Preibus" lamenting the poor image enjoyed by the Republican Party in minority communities nationwide.  In part, she posits the following:

Whenever Black History Month comes around, I experience mixed feelings stemming from its celebration in the Department of Defense schools that I attended during my childhood.  It was always a time of shame and mockery mixed with defiant force for us. We weren't permitted to sit it out, we were commanded to celebrate, which took a lot of the fun out of it.  I always wondered why the history of black people had to be confined to a single month instead of being inside the history books along with the rest.

LOVELAND, Colo. — A 2nd grader has been suspended from school in Loveland for a make believe game he was playing.

A three judge panel comprising the Shawnee Country District Court in Kansas has ruled that the Legislature violated the state Constitution by reducing funding for public education.  The cuts have come at a time when local governments have struggled to collect enough tax revenue to fund local services and initiatives.  The lawsuit, brought by a coalition of 54 Kansas school districts was hailed as a victory by Alan Rupe, the plaintiff’s attorney. 

In comments of late, Former Secretary of State Colin Powell, a decorated military veteran with impeccable credentials, has shown a proclivity for adopting an adversarial stance towards the GOP.   As one of the most prominent figures in the party over the past two decades through his military service and cabinet positions, Powell has always had a decidedly positive imprint on the reputation of the GOP with his name constantly rising as a possible presidential contender. 

What is the tribe mentality?   It's loosely defined as submitting yourself to the group think of the greater control group that you should stereotypically belong to: in this case a person's racial identity group.

In this video by Benny Johnson at the Blaze, he queries young college students about who they're standing in line to vote for and why.  He asks a number of questions that would seem obvious to anyone waiting two hours to cast a ballot.  The responses would be hilarious if there wasn't so much at stake from the biggest election loss young Americans have seen in their lifetime.

Tuesday night was brutal.  If Republicans ever doubted that our message wasn't getting through or that we face a formidable enemy with all of the right supporters - unions, foreign interests, the government, the entire media complex, higher education, and K-12 Education, that illusion has been forever shattered.
