"President Obama's War on Students"
"Americans are being misled by leaders like President Obama who want them to believe that becoming debtors to the federal government will make them successful. With no jobs and an overabundance of students who all have the same degrees, Obama\u2019s suggested path will do little more than keep Americans broke and unemployed."

The War on Students?

“Higher education is still the best ticket to upward mobility in America,” President Obama said last year. “And if we don’t do something about keeping it within reach, it will create problems for economic mobility for generations to come.”

Millionaire Congressmen Look Out for Number One

At a recent “Raise the Wage” rally, Democratic Kentucky Senate candidate Alison Lundergan Grimes slammed Mitch McConnell for his personal wealth, which she estimated to be in excess of $25 million. While Grimes’ arguments for the minimum wage are wildly off-base, she has managed inadvertently to put her finger on a problem that plagues Congress in general: the propensity of lawmakers to use their positions to enrich themselves rather than serve their constituents.

Want to Be A Social Media Hero? You'll Need Some Alfreds.

I believe we can all agree that, in the pantheon of superheroes, Batman is right up there. He is vengeance and the night and a cultural icon that goes back more than half a century. Countless kids grew up wanting their own Batcaves and Batmobiles and Batarangs and, well, you get the idea.

The Growing Regulatory Burden, and the Challenge of Reform

According to the Office of Management and Budget, Americans currently spend 10 billion hours wading through federal paperwork requirements. In fact, in just one week in March, regulators added $1.4 billion to the regulatory burden, along with another 6.7 million hours of paperwork. And according to the National Federation of Independent Businesses, the largest problems for small businesses in February were regulation and red tape. Overall, the costs of regulation have become a significant problem. With the economy still enervated from the financial collapse of 2008, perhaps it is time to address the increasing regulatory burden, which can stifle the best laid schemes for economic growth.

ObamaCare Doesn't Exist: Honest?

Democracy and Power 108: Obfuscation Wherever politics intrudes upon economic life, political success is readily attained by saying what people like to hear rather than what is demonstrably true. Instead of safeguarding truth and honesty, the state then tends to become a major source of insincerity and mendacity. —Hans F. Sennholz

QE and Minimum Wage are State Sponsored Price Fixing

In his classic economic text, The Wealth of Nations, Adam Smith had the following to say about collusion: “People of the same trade seldom meet together, even for merriment and diversion, but the conversation ends in a conspiracy against the public, or in some contrivance to raise prices.”
