Good news, readers. I now have pediatric dental insurance. I don’t have kids, I have a dog. I'm not responsible for the teeth of any children at all, but I’ve got the insurance now just in case. I don’t need pediatric dental insurance, I didn’t know I wanted pediatric dental insurance, but Obama thinks I do, so I must now buy it.
Liberals and establishment Republicans often talk about partisanship in Washington, lamenting that there are not enough people working together to grow the size of government. In a lot of ways, that complaint is like peeing in navy blue pants. It’s warm and may make the wearer feel good, but no one can see it. The complaints come to mind in the wake of Wednesday’s passage of a $1.1 trillion omnibus spending bill in the House, which funds ObamaCare and passed by a vote of 359-67. In other words, just 15 percent of House members voted against it.

Sponsored by Congressman Tim Griffin (R-AR), this bill would simply eliminate the section of ObamaCare that provides for taxpayer bailouts of health insurance companies.

Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker appeared on Fox News' Huckabee show to explain that Republicans shouldn't challenge incumbents in primaries until their party controls Congress. Incumbent job security generates voter apathy, and leads to the kind of government we see in our country today. Primary challenges are a way of letting elected officials know that they still have people to answer to, and challenges should be welcome in every election cycle.
The omnibus bill being fast-tracked through Congress increases spending. This simple fact apparently escapes some members of Congress, several of whom have been telling their constituents that the bill was a victory because our spending levels are now lower than in recent years. The House Appropriations Committee is using the following chart as proof that conservatives have scored a major victory (the red edits are ours):
