Major Gifts Officer
FreedomWorks seeks a full-time major gifts officer as it grows the fundraising department to increase its impact in the liberty movement. The position is suited for someone based in the DC area but eager for extensive travel through the United States. This position offers potential for growth and the opportunity to be part of a dynamic and highly productive team as it raises money towards advancing the organization’s mission. Above all else, this position requires a firm commitment to individual freedom. The major gifts officer will work with the Executive Vice President to build programs that identify, grow, and nurture major gifts from individual donors. The primary responsibility of this position is first steward relationships with current donors and second to identify prospects and develop them through meetings and calls. Background in libertarian/conservative causes is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of donors and prospects from $5000-$20,000 with a focus on soliciting gifts through face to face meetings.
- Manage relationships with prospective and existing donors in all aspects of the gift cycle to include identifying, qualifying, and initiating contact; developing appropriate cultivation strategies for the donors; moving potential donors toward solicitation and closure; making solicitations when appropriate; and maintaining stewardship contacts with donors.
- Collaborate with Vice President of Development to establish major donor fundraising goals and to execute strategies to reach revenue goals.
- Identify qualified prospects and oversee outreach strategies to include performing advanced research on prospects to determine whether they are qualified and how best to connect with them.
- Coordinate identification and solicitation of potential planned giving prospects.
- Maintain donor records and update the database with all relevant donor information.
- Maintain tracking documents to show progress and donor moves.
- Assist and attend donor and organizational events as needed.
- Produce fundraising materials to include but not limited to letters, emails, newsletters, proposals, presentations, and reports.
- Coordinate messages and themes with the communications team to inspire donors.
Required Skills:
- Three or more years’ experience in fundraising, policy, nonprofits, campaigns or sales.
- Strong written communication skills; ability to write clear, structured, articulate, and persuasive communications
- Strong editing skills and attention to detail
- Ability to handle multiple projects efficiently and meet deadlines
- Ability to conduct research and identify new funding opportunities; knowledge of fundraising information sources, basic fundraising strategies, and prospect research techniques
- Ability to understand the needs and interests of leadership and major gift donors in order to develop relationships between them
- Successful experience in making cold calls as well as developing cultivation and solicitation strategies
- Previous experience with political non-profits or campaigns
- Must be willing and enjoy extensive travel
- A deep interest in and understanding of politics and the freedom movement cause.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Administrative Duties (accounting, supplies, materials, etc.).
- Managing online activist platform, requests, etc.
- Working with vendors on material creation and distribution.
- Preparing powerpoint presentations and organizing data on excel spreadsheets (knowledge of vlookup formulas helpful).
- Other duties as needed.

Program Intern
FreedomWorks, the nation’s leading free-market and limited government grassroots advocacy organization, is seeking to hire a qualified candidate to serve as our Programs intern. This is an in-person paid internship position with the option to work up to 30 hours per week.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist the Programs team with various tasks and projects relating to our Education Reform efforts, the Election Protection Initiative. and our Center for Economic Freedom.
- Attend/assist in planning events
- Assist with activist communication
- Follow ups/invites to events, webinars, trainings, and more.
- Assist with tracking program performance and other key statistics
- Help coordinate events and manage program calendar
- Assist research with program research
Qualifications include:
- Ability to work independently, quickly, and under pressure

Data Coordinator
FreedomWorks is seeking a Data Coordinator that will support the day-to-day operation of its database management. The Data Coordinator will review, clean, and audit the data so that the correct data can be shared with FreedomWorks team members and appropriately land in any marketing automations. The position will extract/upload data and generate basic and moderately complex reports as required. The position will also ensure the accuracy of the data and act as a resource to all users of the Salesforce CRM database and other technology platforms. The ideal applicant will use their creative thinking, attention to detail, and technical skills to impact the development and delivery of existing processes and new solutions. The Data Coordinator will report directly to the Database Engineer and will be located in Washington D.C.
Data Coordinator duties and responsibilities
- Creating reports by compiling data from Salesforce, Hubspot, and other data sources
- Organizing data by creating Dashboards or other visual aids that make it easier to analyze information
- Executing secure and effective data procedures to ensure data is clean for automation
- Maintaining the integrity of data that contains Personally Identifiable Information
- Reviewing data for accuracy and identifying any gaps in information before sharing results with others
- Transcribing data from multiple sources into Salesforce and Hubspot Records
- Establishing relationships with FreedomWorks team members and collaborating with them to understand their needs and suggest solutions
- Training other FreedomWorks team member to use technology platforms effectively and efficiently
- Managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
- Other tasks as assigned
Data Coordinator requirements
- Experience with databases, data procedures, and data administration is not required but 1-2 years of experience is preferred
- Ability to scan large volumes of data in a short time frame
- Outstanding analytical thinking skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
- Ability to learn new technology platforms and train other team members
- Up-to-date with the latest advancements in Salesforce CRM and Hubspot Marketing platform
