Arnie vs. Rudy on Health Care… Sort Of

In that Schwarzenegger piece I linked to yesterday, the Governator comes out in support of Rudy Giuliani:

Though noting that he has not endorsed anyone, the governor said Giuliani is “the most consistent, stable person who is out there who makes the most sense to the people. That’s why his poll numbers are high.”

Is Arnie aware that Giuliani has been vehemently bashing exactly the same type of insurance-mandate health-care proposals that Schwarzenegger has spent the last week or two promoting?  Because, like Romney’s plan, Arnie’s has a lot in common with Hillary Clinton’s.  And Giuliani doesn’t mince words here, saying Clinton’s plan puts on a "clear march toward socialized medicine."  Yet the governor insists on sneering at  fellow California Republicans for being "too ideologically rigid."  So what’s the deal?  Doesn’t that make Giuliani too rigid as well?  Or is Arnie just siding up to popularity where he sees it–whether in Giuliani’s polls or the press-love he gets for backing Democratic health-care proposals?
