FreedomWorks Activists Visit Rep. Jody Hice’s Monroe District Office and Urge Him to Say No to Drug Price Controls

WASHINGTON, D.C. — FreedomWorks grassroots activists visited Rep. Jody Hice’s (R-Ga.) Monroe district office yesterday and made their case for why Congress must oppose socialized healthcare and in particular, price controls on prescription drugs. FreedomWorks grassroots activists from Georgia’s tenth congressional district were in attendance and spoke with Rep. Hice’s district staff. This effort is part of FreedomWorks’ nationwide campaign to fix patients, not prices and stop socialized medicine.

Allen Page, FreedomWorks Southeast Regional Grassroots Coordinator, commented:

“FreedomWorks activists know that government goes to those who show up, which is exactly why we paid a visit to Rep. Hice’s district office. Our grassroots activists whole-heartedly oppose Nancy Pelosi’s health care plan – which includes socialized price controls on prescription drugs. Instead of lowering costs, price controls on prescription drugs will lead to shortages and the development of fewer lifesaving cures. FreedomWorks activists are proud to continue the fight against government involvement in American’s health care, and we hope that Rep. Hice will do the same and oppose price controls back in Washington.”
