“Food For Thought” Packs The Room on Social Security Reform

HENNIKER: Over 50 students and community leaders came together at New England College in Henniker, NH on Monday evening November 3rd to listen to Derrick Max, the Executive Director of Alliance for Worker Retirement Security, address the issue of Social Security reform.

Mr. Max’s power point presentation was titled “Food for Thought: Will Social Security Exist for You?” and highlighted the problems facing Social Security and the benefits of reform that include personal retirement accounts. Many in the audience were amazed to learn that just over three workers support each retiree and soon only two workers will support each retiree.

“Mr. Max gave a very professional presentation and really engaged the students in a way that encouraged them to take ownership in the Social Security system”, said New Hampshire Citizens for a Sound Economy (NH CSE) State Director Chuck McGee. “We are grateful that Mr. Max could join us from Washington to keynote the fifth stop of our “Choose Your Future” Social Security Reform tour.”

NH CSE and For Our Grandchildren have partnered in New Hampshire to inject the issue of Social Security Reform into the Presidential Primary. NH CSE has mailed all Democratic and Republican candidates copies of its Presidential Candidates Social Security Reform Pledge and will be pressing the contenders to sign the pledge.

NH CSE and For Our Grandchildren will be hosting the sixth stop of its “Choose Your Future” Social Security reform tour on November 11th when Dr. Michael Tanner speaks before the Seacoast Federation of Republican Women in Stratham.

“The ‘Choose Your Future’ tour is gaining momentum with each and every event and we are looking forward to having Dr. Tanner come to New Hampshire and highlight the issue of Social Security reform. When it is all said and done we believe the candidates for president will have little choice but to address this issue,” concluded McGee.
