2013 Budget Report Card: Rand Paul's Budget Still the Best

This week the House and Senate will likely vote on their budget plans, along with a few conservative alternative budgets. To help you see where each plan stands in terms of spending restraint and economic growth, we have put together our second annual "Budget Report Card", which rates each of the major plans according to various economic criteria. This year even Paul Ryan's House plan balances in 10 years, while Rand Paul and the Republican Study Committee plans balance in 5 and 4 years, respectively. The Senate Democrats' plan, unfortunately, never reaches balance.

Tell Your Representatives to Sign Republican Study Committee Letter Urging No Tax Increases in the Super Committee Deal

Dear FreedomWorks member, As one of our million-plus FreedomWorks members nationwide, I urge you to contact your representative and ask him or her to sign onto the Republican Study Committee letter to urge the Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction (the “Super Committee) not to increase taxes on the American people. The so-called Super Committee has until November 23 to recommend a plan that will reduce the deficit by $1.5 trillion over the next decade. Dear Representative, On behalf of over a million FreedomWorks members nationwide, I urge you to vote YES on Rep. Jordan’s amendment #104 to H.R. 1 the Full Year Continuing Appropriation Act.  As it currently stands, the proposed continuing resolution lowers non-security discretionary spending to $396.6 billion.  This would be the largest discretionary spending cut in American history.  Rep.
