North Carolina Supports Fracking

Energy costs in the US have been sky rocketing recently due to over-regulation by the federal government and the ever decreasing value of the dollar. Thankfully, there are options to lower the cost of energy such as fracking, the process of extracting natural gas from shale rock. More importantly, 75% of North Carolinian voters support increased access to domestic oil and natural gas resources including energy from shale.

North Carolina FreedomWorks Legislative Liaison Kathy Hartkopf  has outlined the Freedom Agenda for this coming session and where FreedomWorks stands on these important issues. The 2011-2012 biennium of the North Carolina General Assembly convened on Wednesday, January 26. Legislators came back to Raleigh ready to work with office moves completed and committee assignments having been made. House leadership had restructured and streamlined House committees.

As I explained in an email last week, since the Obama, Pelosi, Reid health care debacle was signed into law, at least fourteen states have joined a lawsuit against the overhaul, arguing that the law’s requirement that individuals buy health insurance is unconstitutional. This is a huge step in the continuing fight against the government takeover of health care and the preservation of our individual liberties.
