More evidence rolled in last week that Republicans are out to unseat Rep. John Spratt, D-S.C., of York, in 2006. The S.C. Republican Party and two groups with strong GOP ties — Americans for Tax Reform and FreedomWorks — sent reporters scathing rebukes of Spratt.

Their focus: Spratt’s vote against a House Republican gas bill and his call to scratch President Bush’s tax cuts to pay for Hurricane Katrina.
