Florida FreedomWorks Meets with Rep. Keller Chief of Staff

On February 16th, Florida State Director John Hallman met with the Chief of Staff for Congressman Ric Keller of the 8th District. John met with Bryan Malenius (Chief of Staff) to discuss the FreedomWorks Freedom Agenda for the 109th Congress. The topics covered were Social Security Reform, Tax Code Reform and Tort Reform. Bryan conveyed to John that Congressman Keller is a strong supporter of large PRA’s. Congressman Keller does not sit on the Ways and Means Committee, but is hopeful they will turn out meaningful legislation.

Congressman Keller also supports reforming the Tax Code, he would support a Flat Tax or at least a flatter tax system and supports making President Bush’s tax cuts permanent. Congressman Keller sits on the Judiciary Committee and voted for the recent Class Action Legislation. Congressman Keller also has been a vocal advocate for capping Medical Malpractice awards.

Bryan Malenius commented to John Hallman that “Congressman Keller has appreciated the great work FreedomWorks has done over the years for mobilizing support for free market issues. Bryan further commented, “when there has been tough fights on the Hill, you can count on FreedomWorks to be in the fight”.

After the meeting John Hallman commented that “Congressman Keller has been a great advocate for freedom agenda issues since joining Congress in 2000”.
