ICYMI: FreedomWorks Wraps Up National School Choice Week Celebration

WASHINGTON, D.C. — FreedomWorks is proud to have participated in National School Choice Week. To celebrate, we amplified the call for the expansion of school choice by featuring activists’ stories and highlighting various education options throughout the week. We also held webinars, one of which featured Congressman Byron Donalds (R-Fla.).

Laura Zorc, FreedomWorks Senior Advisor of Education Policy Reform and Parent Led Advocacy, commented:

“FreedomWorks is delighted to have had the privilege of bringing to light the important issue of school choice and applaud our activists for being tireless advocates of the cause. But even with a successful week of advocacy behind us, we know that the school choice movement needs to be fought for throughout all weeks of the year. There is much work to be done.

“Going forward, it’s critical that we harness the energy surrounding the school choice movement and keep up the momentum going into the 2021 session, whether they be federal, state, or local legislative sessions. With COVID-19 school closures, parents are upset enough to ignite a school choice movement like we have never seen before. By advocating for laws to allow families to have increased educational freedom, we hope to make school choice a reality for more Americans as soon as possible.”
