El Paso County Republicans Unanimously Say NO to the Ref. C Tax Hike

DENVER- This week, in a defeat for Colorado tax and spend liberals, El Paso County Republican Party leaders became the first GOP county organization to publicly denounce Colorado’s Referendum C.

45 El Paso County Executive Committee members voted unanimously in favor of a resolution opposing the Ref. C tax hike and stated that Colorado Republicans should also oppose this measure.

Colorado FreedomWorks Campaign Coordinator Cameron Sholty commented:

“Most of the state’s Republican leadership is already on record opposing the Ref C tax increase and yesterday’s El Paso County Republican vote is another step towards defeating this liberal-endorsed tax hike.”

“FreedomWorks will encourage other groups and organizations to follow the El Paso County Republican Party’s lead and pass similar resolutions opposing Ref. C. There is no reason for any moderate or conservative to support what amounts to a $3.7 billion tax hike.”

The El Paso County Republicans join Colorado Republican Gubernatorial candidates Bob Beauprez and Marc Holtzman as well as conservative and Republican leaders all over Colorado who publicly oppose the Ref. C tax hike.

The El Paso County Republican opposition builds on FreedomWorks’ ongoing grassroots effort to defeat Ref. C. FreedomWorks is utilizing an extensive network of volunteer campaign coordinators to engage in a massive voter canvassing project to reach hundreds of thousands of voters before Election Day. This campaign effort includes door-to-door literature drops, grassroots rallies, mail, and other campaign activities.
