FreedomWorks Statement in Support of Modernizing the Passenger Facility Charge

WASHINGTON, D.C. — In response to FreedomWorks’ support for U.S. Representative Thomas Massie’s (R-KY) amendment to modernize the Passenger Facility Charge (PFC), Adam Brandon, FreedomWorks President, commented:

“Rather than further subsidizing airports, raising the cap on the PFC is a helpful way to address the funding needs of America’s airports. Big government bureaucrats have restrained PFCs at airports for far too long. Rep. Massie’s amendment is a market-minded way to address the infrastructure shortfall for airports, without risk to taxpayers, and decreases subsidies to large airports who increase their PFCs. Members of Congress should support this market-based idea.”
