Russ Walker is Senior Political Strategist at FreedomWorks for America.

An accomplished political executive with over 26 years of experience leading statewide and national campaigns and organizations, Russ founded FreedomWorks for America in 2011, growing it into one of the nation’s largest independent super PACs. In 2012 he directed more than 23 million dollars in independent expenditures and managed more than 70 full-time staff in 12 states.

Russ served as a senior advisor to President Trump’s 2020 campaign, Dr. Ben Carson’s 2016 presidential campaign, and consulted for U.S. Senator Mike Lee. Today, in addition to his work at FreedomWorks, he provides general consulting and campaign management to non-profits, ballot measures, and candidates as a Senior Strategist for the public affairs firm, September Group.

Russ has advised some of the largest organizations on the right, including the State Policy Network, FreedomWorks, Club for Growth, and Republicans Overseas. He’s also advised some of the nation’s most successful state think tanks, including Libertas (Utah), the Mackinac Center for Public Policy (Michigan), and the James Madison Institute (Florida), as well as playing a key role in organizing, training, and guiding the Tea Party at its inception.

Russ has been interviewed and quoted by CNN, Fox News, the Daily Show, Lehrer News Hour, Mother Jones, Politico, The Hill, the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, Washington Post, Washington Times, and many other large media outlets.

He served as an enlisted soldier and officer in the Army National Guard. Russ is married to Lisa Walker; together they live in Oregon with their four children and two dogs.
