Roy Loflin is the Activist of the Year

Tucked away in liberal Orange County, NC, a former AT&T employee is leading the charge for lower taxes, less government and more freedom. Roy Loflin is NC FreedomWorks’ chapter activist of the year, and for good reason. Allen Page, state director of NC FreedomWorks, describes Roy as being a “core activist”—which says a lot considering that the Tarheel state contains some of the most ardent FreedomWorks activists.

Roy has earned his notoriety for “never saying no” to a FreedomWorks call to action. He has participated in precinct walks all over his county during the 2004 election cycle, as well as traveling to South Carolina. Roy is a fearless activist who has met with numerous congressmen and their staff—including Senator Edwards staff. Roy has crashed townhall meetings and has gone to Raleigh at least six times to lobby against tax increases. He has been to every Washington trip ever since the NC FreedomWorks chapter was started. He logs numerous hours each week with FreedomWorks as a crusader for limited government.

Roy is a shining example of the difference that citizen activists can make in their government.
