Prelude to ObamaCare

Without intending to, today's New York Times exposes the inherent problems with government rationed health care services, with lobbyists jockeying for advantage in the Medicare reimbursement game.  Already a dominant purchaser of health services, Medicare has created a shortage of primary physicians by cutting reimbursements.  Now imagine a world where all Americans are herded into Medicare....  Infinite demand for free services, skyrocketing costs, and some Grey Suited Soviet with a clip board determining if the medical procedure you need to live is worth the cost to the Treasury.

Washington, DC –  Included in President Obama’s budget is a $635 billion ‘down payment’ for health care reform.  President Obama does not get into details on what his healthcare reform would be, but he never the less asks for hundreds of billions of dollars to be pre-approved for it.  This money would no doubt be used to centralize health care decisions with bureaucrats in Washington and expand bankrupt entitlements programs.

Fourteen years ago when she was First Lady Hillary Clinton unloaded a health-care plan on the country. Complex, confusing, and restrictive, the thousand-page proposal outlined a radical overhaul of the nation’s health system, and a small band of grassroots activists quickly rose up to successfully oppose it. At 1,342 pages, it was the Hindenburg of health-care plans, and it went down in just as grand a fashion. Now Clinton is back with yet another health care plan, and she has learned some lessons.
