Sequester Hits Head Start: Children Used as Political Pawns

In March of this year, Obama’s sequester (yes, it is absolutely Obama’s) and the approved cuts that went along with it began to kick in, trimming from different parts of the budget in an attempt to balance out this government’s out of control spending. As kids head back to school though and parents make decisions on their children's educational choices, Obama decides the timing is perfect to use those children to once again push for more spending.

Congress ‘Fixes’ Airport Delays by Increasing Deficit

When the White House launched their sequestration scare campaign earlier this year, one of the most hyped consequences was its effect on air travel.Since so many other warnings never were realized, the Obama administration made good on threats last week by ordering 14,750 air traffic controllers on furlough two days a month. As a result, major airports saw flight delays of up to 80 minutes. Granted, some of these effects can be blamed on the weather, but the Beltway’s media message is clear: sequestration is the end of life as we know it.

Vicious Sequester Cuts Causing Flight Delays?

Over the past several days travelers have been experiencing longer than normal wait times and more frequent flight delays.  We've heard time and time again, and even from the FAA itself that its because goverment was forced to tighten it's belt and make cuts due to the Sequester.

Sequestration Might Turn White House Chef Into a Spy or Something

It has been a harrowing six weeks for the nation, what with the sequestrapocalyse and all. As of March 1, our underfunded federal government was forced to slash indispensible initiatives such as robot squirrels, pickle specifications and cowboy poetry.

Vilsack's Playbook to Avoid Sequester

U.S. Senators Roy Blunt (R-MO) and Mark Pryor (D-AR) have successfully passed an amendment to the continuing resolution which effectively transfers $55 million to the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).  This increased the total allocated costs for FSIS to $1,056,427,000  up from $1,001,427,000.

FreedomWorks President Matt Kibbe Debates Tea Party vs. Establishment on Fox News

Matt Kibbe appeared on Fox News Sunday on March 17 to debate Steve LaTourette, a former Republican Congressman who now leads the Republican Mainstreet Partnership. The debate centered around how the GOP can win elections in the future, and was a classic case of the Tea Party vs. the Establishment.  As host and moderator Chris Wallace stated, "CPAC highlighted the disagreement for the [GOP] to broaden its base."

Primer: Speaking Cogently About Government Spending

In today’s age of media sound bites and consistent bias, advocates for fiscal responsibility must learn to discuss the spending problem facing the United States in a meaningful way in order to win over Americans to the sensibility of reducing government.

Phony Sequester Consequences Continued: White House Tours

In an article released yesterday, I demonstrated the absurdity of the White House’s claims regarding the impact of sequestration on lines at the airport. Today, I continue this analysis by examining the budget for the United States Secret Service.
